Established in 1882, the University of Findlay has nearly 60 majors leading to baccalaureate degrees and offers 10 master’s degrees, a doctor of pharmacy, a Ed.D. and a doctor of physical therapy. More than 4,200 students from 40+ countries are enrolled at Findlay. With an international student population of nearly 600, Findlay's campus offers global experiences to students from all over the world. Oiler Nation has another reason to celebrate the start of the school year – The Princeton Review has recognized the University of Findlay as one of the best four-year institutions in the Midwest for 2019!
The educational services company’s annual rankings are based upon student survey information and data provided by individual schools. Institutions that were named are considered “academically outstanding.”
“The University of Findlay is honored to have received this prestigious academic recognition. It is gratifying to see strong positive input from our students regarding their UF experiences,” said President Katherine Fell, Ph.D. “All the credit goes to our student-focused faculty and staff.”
Students praised the University’s focus on experiential learning, expert faculty and varied academic offerings that sharpen critical thinking skills. The school’s numerous study-abroad and service opportunities were also mentioned.
“Not many colleges can simultaneously create future doctors and professional horse trainers,” one student noted. Faculty “have incredible experience in their field” and are “willing to help you inside and outside the classroom to grow to your full potential,” another student explained. Many faculty “go out of their way to help students get into graduate programs and full-time jobs,” a survey commenter emphasized. More student input is included on Princeton’s site.
The Princeton Review survey asks students to rate their colleges in categories ranging from the quality of science labs to food service operations.
The University of Findlay was one of 159 schools named in the “Best in the Midwest” college listing. Overall, The Princeton Review recognized 660 regional colleges in five zones for its “2019 Best Colleges: Region by Region” accolades. These schools constitute only 25 percent of the nation’s four-year colleges.
